» Born in a magical world of Atanos; to a small mountainous country called Gestrome, famed for it's natural resources, Veylin (still a teenager) is among the many refugees who fled their home country due to war. Saddled in between two warring countries in desperate need to replenish their war machines, Gestrome was targeted for the raw materials it possesses. Veylin's father was conscripted, so her mother and her older brother were the only ones who managed to flee the country.
» Her mother didn't make the journey, so she was left under the care of her brother. They both were taken in by the country of Viniroc, a neutral nation in the desert. But with the both of them being young and having no skills besides his music and her dancing, not to mention their language barrier, they had difficulty finding honest work. It took some struggling to get by, making Veylin's brother grow overprotective of her and Veylin being sheltered by him.
» He eventually joins a band and helped Veylin join a dance troupe comprised of her fellow Gestromes, which didn't last very long as local crime lords have taken advantage of this influx of refugees to be taken in under their thrall. Veylin's youth and beauty captured the attention of an infamous crime lord, who wanted to buy her to work in his seedy brothel. But her brother protected her from such a fate, bargaining with the criminal master and sacrificing his honor by becoming his henchman. In exchange, Veylin had a safer life working as a dancer and a hostess for the boss' more secretive nightclub. The Holy Grail, as it's called, has become Veylin's new home away from her brother's watchful eye. Trading one overprotective figure for another, Veylin felt trapped. Eventually becoming an adult, she adapted to the life in the Holy Grail, a den frequented by mercenaries from distant lands, and lived vicariously through their stories as her way to know more of the outside world.
» With the war between nations long over, Atanos goes through another world-shattering event that shook the status quo of the entire planet. Atanos had opened up to new peoples from a distant world. The incident known as the First Contact, Atanos had welcomed strangers who look exactly like them, from the planet called Earth and her people - the Terrans. Forming an alliance, the Atanos natives and the Terrans coexisted for the next years to come, learning from each other and sharing the good things about their respective cultures. But also the bad things.
» Terrans had partaken in the crime worlds of Atanos' underbelly, bringing in drugs and weapons in exchange for raw materials native to the planet. Culture clashes between Atanos and Terran citizens had also caused multiple faux-pas that stained the reputation of Terrans as a whole as unruly people in the eyes of more honor-based societies of Atanos. Veylin's brother, who remains in contact with her for short amounts of time, remained overprotective of her. More so now that there are new players in the game. His trust towards Terrans were low from the start, and it only got worse with time. But Veylin was the opposite of her brother, seeing Terrans are interesting and adventurous people with the same capacity for nobility as Atanos natives are. She's met Terrans in The Holy Grail, and was immediately fascinated by their culture and advanced technology. It made her yearn to see their world and become a part of it, wishing to be free from the Grail.
» Veylin accidentally told her brother that The Holy Grail's master has been involved in the recent attacks on Terran supply convoys for weapons, using mercenaries to carry out his will. Her brother was lied to by the master, who for all this time had made himself look neutral towards the Atanos-Terran cultural exchange, causing him to lose even more trust towards him and feared for Veylin's safety. Now deep into the life of a henchman, her brother had made serious connections throughout the years of being the Holy Grail boss' hitman. He planned an assault on the Holy Grail itself. But after a few failed attempts, Veylin told him of a Terran who he can trust - Archon Commander Troy Dantes (

Left with no choice, Veylin's brother sought this Terran out and told them the truth. » Raided by Terran soldiers, their property hidden within The Holy Grail were seized and those working for the now deceased boss are given their freedom. Left with a choice, Veylin was given the chance to go to the almost mythical city of the Terrans on her home planet, and live a new life and pursue her dream of being a movie star. But her brother, still not trusting Terrans, was adamant that she stays out of their turf. For once, Veylin made a decision for herself and told her brother of her choice to leave Viniroc. Even with the offer extended to him, Veylin's brother declined and let Veylin go, parting ways with her and never seeing her again.
» Veylin left Viniroc for the Terran city-state in Atanos, ending up in a city called Aurum, ready to start fresh.
Personality:
» As a person, Veylin is an anxious and stressed-out individual due to constantly being on the spotlight of people far above her ken.
» She tries to be a good leader to her troupe (even though she isn't their leader), projecting a cheerful and optimistic personality who values hard work although this can sometimes get them to dislike her. She's sensible, caring for other's feelings and proper etiquette that she always reminds her fellow hosts of.
» Although she has a special disdain of being thought of as a "call girl" by being a hostess, she does enjoy the bribes and attentions she receive from her suitors, and she's not above to taking the bribes and having secret dalliances with her favorite clients for a price.
» Having an overbearing brother really shaped Veylin, as she is easily scared of new things and always relies on him for almost anything since they were young. This is somehow justified by having to survive a war zone, and how many kidnapping threats she had to endure even before days of Terran arrival. Veylin grew secretive, always hiding something from others and sneaks out of her brother's watchful eye whenever she could. She also became sheltered and ignorant, making her gullible to a lot of things. Because of this lifestyle, Veylin had always felt like she lacked an identity, constantly having to put up masks to please people around her.
» She also has difficulty keeping a secret that's been confided in her by others. She enjoys gossiping and chatting about the latest trends. She also tends to cry easily, causing her to get called a crybaby especially during her youth.
» As tensions between Terrans and Ataneans intensify, Veylin finds herself increasingly curious of Terrans and their culture. This extends to her becoming a sympathizer for Terrans, which helped her find her own voice. An attempt by Terrans to mend the divide had them invite Atanean to partake in their arts, with Veylin getting her wish of becoming a part of a movie. With her natural charisma and beauty, she's quickly becoming a rising star with the hopes of bringing both Ataneans and Terrans together through this manner, and to find her own path in life.
» She likes dancing, shopping, going to spas, going on hot-air balloons and airships, movies, make-up and beauty products, Terran technology, Terran cities, good stories, gossiping, tea, cats, upbeat music, driving Terran cars, beaches, sleepovers, luxury, and attention. She dislikes creeps, stuttering, boring conversations, poor manners and hygiene, violence and war, living in poverty, dogs, dark places, stiff neck, coffee (though iced coffee with milk is fine), and being mistaken as a hooker.
Powers:
» Skilled hoop and pole dancer. She's an athletic genius, able to remember choreography in one practice session and come up with one on the fly. She learns quickly when it comes to dancing and similar sports that flexibility, agility, and coordination are a must. She was quick to pick up contemporary Terran dance styles, as an example.
» Veylin is not powered, and is a typical Atanean, which is stronger than the average unaugmented Terran. Her natural "mana" pool is greater than the average Terran, making her capable of using magic through a medium. She can channel her magic through a set of gold hoops, made of Gestrome "glass-gold", able to alter their size to that of a ring to a Cyr wheel, allowing her to use them like wind-and-fire wheels or throw them like chakrams or frisbees that always return to her. She can link them up to form a whip. They can also be used as restraints to bind someone, and fire magic blasts if Veylin telekinetically lines them up in front of her like a telescope, with a motion similar to pulling an arrow on a bow. She can zoom in and out of her target by turning her outreached hand clockwise or counter-clockwise, and fire a blast with a motion like loosing an arrow with her rear hand. For quicker, and less powerful blasts, she can use the hoops around her wrist like an arm blaster. Each blast is capable enough to stun a low-level metahuman to stopping a speeding car.
» In non-combat scenarios, the glass-gold hoops can glow and cast an almost hypnotic effect on her audience. She can brighten and dim the glow of her hoops and also change their colors. While mostly for aesthetics, it helps in adding more potency to the hypnotic effects of her dancing. She can add magic circles as well to further wow her audience, but her dance is mostly noted for it's ability to have emotional healing effects, recharging another person's "mana" and clearing the mind of someone suffering emotional turmoil.
